One year ago, I started Personal Training (and later BootCamp Classes) with Clayton Tandy at OpFitness. When I came to Clayton, I was in the middle of a longhealth journey where I had been struggling with neurological issues and had recently been diagnosed with arthritis. Clayton helped me to realize that though faced with health issues, I still had the ability to improve my physical fitness. Prior to coming to Clayton, through the long process of getting diagnosed with arthritis, I had gained weight and faced physical and emotional setbacks. He helped me to set small goals as we went through a program of identifying my physical strengths and weaknesses and developing a growing understanding of how we could work through symptoms of arthritis together. Clayton knew that I could do more! He showed perfect balance of knowledge, motivation, empathy, and toughness to bring out in me physical achievements I never thought possible again! Though losing weight was not my primary focus, I have lost 22 pounds thus far and continue to loose. My goal was to improve my physical fitness while working through anylimitations my health issues presented. Clayton took both my successes and struggles personally. For that, I will forever be grateful to Clayton and the OpFitness team.

Opfitness has helped transform my life and body. I joined the Opfitness army about two and half years ago. Clayton Tandy has led me through boot camps at 6:30 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Indian Hills C.C.
The workouts are intense and new each day. We use weights, machines, cardio equipment, body weight, and outdoor elements to train each day. I enjoy our group of men in which I have built great relationships with. We work hard together and lay sweat on the floor during high energy workouts. I enjoy it and have made fitness a part of my life.
On a personal note, I continue to use Clayton’s fitness techniques in my personal work outs. We talk proper diet and meal intake as well. He has helped me see significant results. When I began training with Clayton I weighed 215 lbs. Today , I weigh 195 lbs. I have lost 2 pants sizes, gained muscle mass, strengthen my core tremendously, and increased my endurance. At age 36 , I’m in the best shape I have been in since I was twenty years old.

Working with Clayton over the past two years has been a life line. I am not athletic, I don’t like to exercise and I have never stayed with a fitness program. Why has it been different with Clayton? I think because he makes a connection with his clients and he is able figure out what you need and what motivates you. He listens and has a genuine concern for his clients. For example, I can’t tell you how many times he has asked “What do you need from me?” “What can I do to help you achieve your goals Kristi?”. Before Clayton I always hated the monotony of the same workout. I knew which parts were hard and would dread it. The workouts are different each time… and I’ve been doing this for 2 years! Besides being funny sarcastic, demanding and nauseatingly positive, he is a decorated soldier in the US Army and continues to serve.
